DIY Indoor/Outdoor Tent

This week's Summer Boredom Buster!

By Megan Barnes June 10, 2019
With $15 worth of materials and 10-20 minutes, your kids can be ready for a new adventure in this easy to move and store tent.

Watch the video below to see how easy it is!

Materials Needed:
3 - 48" dowel rods
2 - 1" x 2" x 8' boards cut in half
1 - sheet in a full or queen
A drill and a hole bit at 3/4" diameter

Directions
On each board, measure 4" from the top and 3/4" over to center of the board and drill a hole. Repeat on remaining boards. On opposite ends, drill holes 3" down and at the 3/4" mark. Take two of the boards and drive 1 dowel rod through the 4" holes. Attach the other 2 boards on the 4" opposite end of the dowel rod. This makes the ridge pole for your tent! Take and insert another dowel rod on the bottom of the frame, matching inside piece to inside piece and outside to outside. Tap each end with a hammer if needed to leave dowel out about 2".

Drape with a sheet or fabric. The sheet can be pinned or sewn if needed around lower dowel rods.

This tent is super easy to make and can be folded up flat for easy storage!
