You voted, and Dana won the Winter Photography Contest! If you thought her photo of the baby with the snowman cap was cute, just look at these 2 photos! Absolutely adorable! She took a little time out of her busy schedule to stop and answer a few questions about her photography business for me.
MK: How do you decide what kind of pose to do with a young baby, and what kind of props, if any, to use?
Dana: Every session varies, and it really depends on what vision the client has. I always find myself posing babies in their natural state. I love organic and natural posing. As far as props, I have a whole closet and garage full :)
MK: Is it hard working with babies?
Dana: Working with newborns/babies can be very challenging at times and requires a ton of patience. But on the flip side, my job is fulfilling and very rewarding. Capturing moments and milestones is priceless.
MK: Do you specialize in a particular type of photography?
Dana: I am a portrait and wedding photographer. I have an in home studio which allows to me specialize in newborns and babies.
MK: How long have you been a photographer?
Dana: I have been a photographer for about 5 years.
MK: What made you decide to become a professional photographer?
Dana: Photography and Graphic Design have always been hobbies of mine, but it wasn't until my son was born, where I found my true passion for photography.
MK: Are you self taught or do you have a degree in photography?
Dana: I want to say I am about 70% self taught. However, I have taken several classes, attended workshops, and watched endless hours of youtube videos.
