There's Lots to See at SeaWorld

By Macaroni Kid Roseville -Rocklin-Lincoln July 19, 2017

On our recent Southern California trip, we put SeaWorld on our list of must do's. When planning the trip, I have to admit, I was so busy planning for an event I was doing, I didn't do a lot of research. I thought I knew what it was all about. I mean, come on, it's SeaWorld, so it's going to be about sea life, right? Well, yes, and no. Yes there is all kinds of sea life to see and learn about, but no, that's not all there is to it!

In the rushed planning, I only allocated half a day at the park, with the other half at Mission Beach, since they are so close. Boy was that a mistake. Imagine my surprise when I found out they had rides! We spent our time there checking out the amazing animals, like the dolphins, sea lions, sea turtles, whales and our personal favorite, the penguins. Our half day went very fast. I know not to make this same mistake next time. SeaWorld is so much more than just looking at the fish and other sea creatures.

I've since done my research, and found out about all the things we didn't see. Here's a rundown of what we are looking forward to next time.

They have lots of shows and presentations, like the Orca Encounter, Sea Lions Live, Elmo Rocks, and more. The show IllumiNight, with lasers, dancer, and acrobats looks amazing.

They have over a dozen cool rides, including a submarine one, roller coasters. (including our family favorite a water roller coaster), a virtual reality experience, and more. They have the Bayside Skyride that you ride across the Mission Bay so you can take it all in, and relax a bit. It's the perfect ride when the kids get a bit tuckered out, allowing everyone to reenergize. I can't wait to go back and try the Electric Eel when it opens in 2018! It's going to be the tallest, and fasters coaster at SeaWorld, with lots of twists and loops.

They also have tours and up close encounters with the animals. We did a dolphin encounter one time (somewhere else), and it is so much fun. It's one of those things you don't want to miss if given the opportunity. SeaWorld also has special events for Halloween and Christmas. I can only image how much fun those would be.

So do yourself a favor, when you plan your trip to SeaWorld, don't make the mistake I did. Plan to spend the entire day there (if not a second one!).

SeaWorld is located at 500 SeaWorld Drive San Diego CA 92109
