Family Fun at Yogi Bear's Jellystone Park in Lodi

Hey Hey Hey, You're Gonna Love Your Stay!

By Macaroni Kid Roseville-Rocklin-Lincoln September 14, 2018

If you follow us on Social Media, you probably saw a few photos, and a video, from our recent visit to Jellystone Park in Lodi. Let me tell you, those photos, and even the video, don’t begin to convey how awesome this place is! We had an amazing weekend, and we were lucky to be able to share it with several other local Macaroni Kid families. Each weekend there is a different theme, and on our week it was Tailgate Weekend.

I first heard about Jellystone Parks a few summers ago. There are several Jellystone Parks around the US. At that time there was one near Clear Lake. I decided back then that I wanted to take the kids, but when I went to make reservations the next summer, I found out it was no longer around. I was really disappointed, and I actually contacted the main company to ask if it would reopen, and was told they were hoping to open a new one in California at some point.

Enter Jellystone Park in Lodi! When I found out we had a Jellystone Park so close I was so excited. I contacted our Lodi Macaroni Kid publisher, Mary, to ask about it. She started going, and it looked like so much fun. When it was time to start making reservations for this summer, I looked them up and was ready to make reservations. That very same day I heard from Mary, and she said she was working on planning a Macaroni Kid weekend getaway there! I can’t tell you how excited I was!

When making reservations, we had our choice of a tent or RV site, or a cabin. With 2 regular camping trips already planned for the summer, I opted for a cabin. They have several cabin options to choose from. I chose the Delta Deluxe, which can sleep up to 8 people, in case we had anyone that wanted to join us.

As soon as we opened the doors to the cabin, the kids went crazy. They saw the loft, and immediately claimed it as theirs. Even though there was a bunk bed to sleep on down below, they wanted to sleep on the loft. With two mattresses in the loft, there was still plenty of space for them to play up there, too.

When you check in they give each person a wristband to wear while at the park. This allows you to utilize all the fun activities the park has to offer. There are so many things for the kids and families to do. We stayed two nights, and we weren’t able to fit in everything! Next time, we want to do at least three nights.

We played in the pool, slid down the water slides, played miniature golf, decorated t-shirts, jumped on the bounce pillow, took a “glow heyride” (hey hey hey), mined for gems, played at the playground, took a bike ride around, and tried out some goodies at the sweet shop. At night we gathered around the campfire with our fellow MacFamilies, and roasted marshmallows. The kids all had a blast running around and playing together.

With all of that, you might wonder what else there is possible to do! We didn’t make it to the Laser Tag, the movie, Candy Bingo, or many of the other fun activities they have planned for each weekend. When you check in they give you a flyer with the weekends activities. They even had a pancake breakfast one morning!

Next summer, the water park and lazy river will be open, along with the fishing pier. We can’t wait to go back. If your dogs are like family, bring them along! They have a dog park for them to run around in! There is also a sandy beach area, and you can bring a boat, or rent one, if you want to cruise the delta!

What’s nice about Jellystone Park in Lodi is that you have so many options, not just with all the activities, but with how you want to stay. You can save money with a tent and bring all your own food, or stay in a cabin and eat at their restaurant (there are even laundry facilities), or anything in between. No matter which you choose, your family is sure to have fun. Want to check it out, but don’t want to stay overnight? There is a day use option available some days, too.

So what are you waiting for? Check out their website, and make Jellystone your go to spot for a day trip, a short getaway, or a full vacation!
