Cruisin' on the River City Queen

By Macaroni Kid Roseville-Rocklin-Lincoln November 7, 2018

Recently I had the opportunity to take a cruise on the River City Queen along the Sacramento River. It was a sunset cruise complete with appetizers and music. We were very lucky, and the weather was just perfect. It was a wonderful way to cap off the day, and was very relaxing.

We set sail from the dock in Old Sacramento, and first headed towards the American River, giving us a look at Miller Park, and the future home of the Powerhouse Museum. After awhile we turned back around and headed back around. There were some amazing sites to see along the way, including a Sea Lion!

The River City Queen has space for 60 passengers, and has been available to charter for groups, with full catering. They are planning to start offering dinner cruises along the river open to individuals and smaller parties. Our cruise included appetizers and they were amazing. The shrimp were jumbo sized, and delicious, and the meatballs were tasty. They also had an assortment of fruit, cheeses, and chips. There was a no-host bar as well.

There is both indoor and outdoor seating available on both the upper and lower levels. The DJ was on the upper level, and the bar was on the lower level. We wandered though the entire boat checking out all the amazing views. I really liked that when we first took off it was light out and we could check out the amazing scenery along the way, but then as we headed back, the sun went down, and we were able to see the bridge, and Old Sacramento lit up with lights. It was beautiful.
