Dr Seuss Craft and Printables

By Macaroni Kid Roseville-Rocklin-Lincoln February 25, 2019

I just love Dr. Seuss books! They have always been my favorite, with all the silly words and rhyming. With Dr. Seuss's birthday just around the corner, I thought I would share with you some fun activities for kids to do. These would be great for a Dr. Seuss themed party (whether at home or at school), too. Scroll down for the instructions for making the Cat in the Hat mask.

Activities:

You can find links to many more printable activities on this website and this one too. The Seussville website also has many craft ideas. Don't forget to download the Cat in the Hat Color and Create App.

There are also some birthday party printables on the Seussville site. Combine the printables, crafts and some of the party food we have on our site, and you'll be all set for a fun day the kids will remember. Dr. Seuss has a Birthday Club kids can join. Kids will get an ecard from Dr. Seuss and exclusive access to printables and activities.

This is super easy to make and only requires a few supplies:

  • White Paper Plate unless you happen to have a black one around)
  • Black Construction Paper
  • White Construction Paper, Cardstock, or Posterboard
  • Markers, crayon, or paint

Cut the middle out of the paper plate and color it black. (I have these cool solid tempera paint sticks we love, so that's what we used), Download the pattern (If you print out on cardstock you don't have to trace the pattern onto construction paper or posterboard). Trace the small strip onto construction paper. Repeat until you have 6 for the whiskers.

Color the 3 stripes on the hat red. Glue the hat and whiskers onto the paper plate, as shown in the photo.

Have fun celebrating Dr. Seuss!
