Valentine's Day Card with Pencils

A great and unique alternative to the typical candy Valentine!

By Jamie Goodwin, Northland Kansas City, MO Publisher February 5, 2020

I love this Valentine because both my 4 and 2-year-old children had a great time making it. My 2-year-old was able to color and decorate, while my 4-year-old could glue the antennas and eyes. And a fun twist for the kiddos, it comes with a pencil instead of candy, so it is a fun alternative to the traditional Valentine card.

Supplies:

  • Cardstock
  • Pom-poms
  • Googly eyes (drawing them on will work too)
  • Pencils
  • Caterpillar template - Found a great one here.
  • Glue
  • Single hole punch
  • Scissors
  • Printer

How to make your Valentine:

  1. Print off the templates on cardstock then cut out the caterpillars.
  2. Hole punch at the bottom of the face and again before and after each group of words.
  3. Decorate /sign the back.
  4. Glue pom-poms and eyes on.
  5. Thread in pencil with the eraser sticking out of the face for the nose.

Enjoy!
