Valentine Craft: Lady in Red

By Jaime Boffa February 12, 2020

Lady Bugs are the perfect Love Bugs for Valentine’s Day! Here's a cute one that's easy for you and your kids to create.

What You'll Need:

  • Clear glass or plastic ornament
  • Red acrylic paint
  • Black paint marker
  • Googly eyes
  • Black twist tie or black chenille stem
  • Black card stock
  • Hot glue

Directions:

Begin by carefully removing the lid off the ornament. Pour about 2 tablespoons of red acrylic paint into the ornament, slowly turning (kids turn!) until the inside is completely coated.

Prop ornament upside down in a paper cup to drain excess paint. Allow paint to set and dry at least two days.

Next, apply the ladybug spots with your black paint marker.

Using a pencil or screwdriver, wrap the twist ties to form a spiral and attach to the top of ornament with hot glue.

Cut lashes from the black card stock, curl and glue in place. Add googly eyes and a cute little smile.

These make great gifts for teachers, grandparents, and your favorite Valentines. Personalize the back with their name or attach a sweet note to a hanging ribbon on top!
