Craft a Pinecone Turkey

By Mary Anne Plauda November 18, 2020

This Pinecone Turkey is fun to make with your children. Make several and use them as decorations on the buffet or as place card holders at the table.

You will need:

  • Pinecones
  • Googly Eyes
  • Black Felt
  • Yellow felt
  • Red felt
  • Various color pipe cleaners
  • Glue

First, prepare the pinecone by lightly filing the sharp ends of the cone.

Next, cut a round circle in the black felt for a face. Glue it onto flat end of the pinecone.

Then cut a triangle in the yellow felt for the beak.

Cut a waddle out of the red felt. Glue the beak, wattle, and eyes to the face.

Finally, bend 6-8 pipe cleaners into loops. Twist all together at the bottom to form the feathers/tails. Secure tail to the pinecone with glue.
