Quick Grab Lunches - Easy Wraps

By Julie Dikken, Pulisher Macaroni Kid Evergreen, Bailey & Conifer August 12, 2020

Now that school, sports, and other after-school activities are in full swing, quick, easy, grab and go lunches are needed more than ever.

To save time in the morning, these wraps can be made in advance so the kids can take what they need before heading off to school! What I love most is that this recipe is simple enough for the kids to make on their own.

Ingredients:

  • Small flour tortillas
  • Assorted lunch meat such as pepperoni, turkey, salami, bacon, ham, roast beef, etc.
  • Assorted cheese slices such as mozzarella, cheddar, swiss, provolone, etc.

Also Needed:

  • Snack size zipper bags and a permanent marker

Instructions:

Place tortilla on a clean surface. Place one piece of lunch meat or 5-6 pieces of pepperoni and one slice of cheese on top. Roll tortilla tightly and place in a snack size zipper bag. Seal and label bag with wrap ingredients. Refrigerate until ready to serve.

No condiments are added which helps keep the tortilla from getting soggy and the small bag helps limit the amount of air around the wrap, keeping the tortilla soft.

Experiment with your favorite combinations. My kids love the "Pizza" Wrap with mozzarella cheese and pepperoni. Keep a variety on hand for quick lunches and snacks. They will keep as long as the expiration date on the meat and cheese - if they last that long. Enjoy!
