Help Kids Find Their Happy

Find Your Happy - A Kids Self Love Book

By Marisela Morales - Macaroni Kid Folsom - El Dorado Hills April 3, 2019

Learning to deal with mean kids, building self-confidence, and finding happiness have always been challenges kids have dealt with.  But today there is much more awareness and many more tools available that we can provide our children to help them with these challenges.  Find Your Happy, A Kids Self Love Book by local author Patricia May is one such tool.

In her book, Patricia May combines knowledge learned by several authors, speakers, and teachers to compile a book of thoughts, wisdom, concepts, and practices in words kids can understand.  She provides kids with tools that will make a kid's day more peaceful and pleasant.  The goal of Find Your Happy is exactly that, to help children find their happy on a daily basis.

I love how Patricia acknowledges that happy is different for everyone but defines how a person knows they have found their happy.  She says, "We all know one thing about happy.  When you feel it, you feel really good and joyful.  Our hearts are blissful, our bodies are content, we smile and laugh.  When you are happy, it not only affects you but showers its splendid radiance upon those around you."  She moves on to provide exercises and practices to create physical, emotional, and spiritual balance.

This book provides the following:

  • Helps a child practice affirmations
  • Provides conversation starters,
  • Encourages gratuity
  • Walks a child through mirror play,
  • Inspires creative thinking
  • Teaches meditation,
  • Encourages finding happiness in nature
  • Encourages movement and being in tune with one's body
  • Encourages being charitable
  • Helps children find calmness
