We've done a lot of camping over the years. I grew up camping in a camper, but when we had kids we always tent camped. This past year we decided to take the plunge and buy a trailer! I'm so glad we did. We have already taken 4 trips, and have a couple more planned.
Our latest camping trip was to Mendocino Redwoods RV Resort. I heard about it on Facebook in a group about camping in Northern California. I'm so glad! This place has so many amenities for families. And don't let the name fool you, there are some tent sites, and they have cabins, so there is a place for everyone.

This place has it all: a pool, mini-golf, disc golf, small petting zoo, splash pad, playgrounds, basketball, bocce ball, disc golf, horseshoes, and even arcade games. They host movie nights on the weekends, and although they haven't brought them back yet due to the pandemic, ice cream socials will come back at some point. Don't forget to bring your fishing pole because there's a fishing hole! This place is pet-friendly too with a dog park for your dog to run around. If you're into RC cars, they have a track for that, too!

Besides the amenities, which are amazing, the people working in the place are so nice, and there is a camp store with all those things you forgot to pack. You can borrow what you need for miniature and disc golf (just leave a license while using them), too.

Mendocino Redwood RV Resort is located in Willits on Highway 20. It took us a little over 3-1/2 hours with a stop on the way. It's just a short drive on Highway 20 to Fort Bragg and Ukiah is just a little south on Highway 101.
The Skunk Train has a Willits route, and you can actually hop on at the train station that is in the resort! How cool is that? If you or anyone in the family is a golfer there is a Brooktrails golf course in Willits, and for those that like to horseback ride, there's Ricochet Ridge Ranch in Fort Bragg.
I highly recommend putting Mendocino Redwood RV Resort on your list of places to camp. There is something for everyone!
