Get Your Free Tree Sapling For Earth Day at The Lincoln Library

Celebrate Earth Day by planting your very own tree!

March 5, 2025

There’s no better way to celebrate Earth Day than by planting a tree! The Lincoln Public Library has a wonderful opportunity to do just that—for free! The annual Neighborhood Forest free tree program is back, and it's a fantastic way for kids and families to connect with nature and learn about caring for the environment.

Since 2010, Neighborhood Forest has been dedicated to supporting out earth and our neighborhoods by giving away free trees to children. Over 100,000 families across North America have participated, resulting in more than 50,000 trees planted in urban and residential areas! It’s not just about beautifying our spaces; it's also about teaching our children the importance of taking care of our planet.

Here’s how you can get involved: Parents or guardians can easily sign up online by Saturday, March 15, to receive a free tree sapling, which will be ready for pickup during Earth Week (April 16-22). Each sapling is 6"-12" in size, perfect for little hands to plant and nurture. Just fill out the registration form here and prepare to add a little green to your home.

The trees will be delivered to the Lincoln Public Library, where you can collect them and celebrate Earth Day with a planting activity. You'll receive detailed planting instructions and information about the tree species via email, ensuring your new leafy friend gets the best start in its new home.

Mark your calendars and don’t miss out on this Earth Day Project! MUST sign up by MARCH 15th! Sign up now!
