Placer County has a Referral Program to help. They also have a program to help subsidize child care for those that qualify. There is a waitlist, but you can apply to get on it. First 5 California has a free resource, Find a Healthy and Safe Environment for Your Child, which includes questions to ask potential child care providers.
If you are thinking about becoming licensed to provide child care yourself, Placer County has some resources to help you, and you can find out how to become licensed through the Department of Social Services..
