Rickey Ranch Pumpkin Patch for Family Fun

Pumpkin, Tractor Ride, Hay Pyramid & more

By Macaroni Kid Roseville-Rocklin-Lincoln October 6, 2017

We had the opportunity to go to Rickey Ranch again this year and we had so much fun! If you're looking for a pumpkin patch that's close by for the little ones, and a lot less stressful for you than "that other big one", Rickey Ranch is the place to go!

While there is plenty to keep the little ones busy, the atmosphere here is very laid back, and you can keep track of the kids easily. They told me they've been doing it for 8 years now, and they have a lot of preschools who come to visit for field trips, with most of them coming back year after year.

The first thing the kids headed to was the huge hay pyramid. They loved climbing up and down it, and around it. Next up was a pony ride. Right next to the pony ride, are some pigs and chickens, which the kids watched for a bit. Then we all took a hay ride, pulled by a tractor, through a meadow in the back. Rickey Ranch set up skeletons on the various farm equipment in the meadow, and the kids loved finding them and pointing them out.

Back at the main area, the kids all found a pumpkin, then had a snack on the picnic table. After that they had fun checking out the goats, old trucks, more farm equipment, and getting pictures taken with the numerous props.

It was a very enjoyable visit for all. The kids had a blast, and we were actually able to enjoy sitting back and watching, without having to run right next to them the entire time, for fear of them getting lost in a crowd.

If you haven't been there before, check them out! And on a side note, they have some wonderful settings for photo opportunities all over the property, with the old cars and farm equipment. It's a photographers dream!
